This Eco-cabin on Eigg is really amazing. It's beautifully designed and runs mostly on renewable energy. The space is cozy and inviting with a view that is just spectacular. Staying at this bothy is both peaceful and inspiring. Plus, there's plenty to explore on the island. A short walk will bring you either to the top of a great ridge or to a private little beach. Eigg is a really fascinating place that has a strong sense of community and commitment to a progressive way of life. Lucy and Eddie were very gracious and friendly hosts. Their hospitality was much appreciated. Give yourself plenty of time here. It's worth it. October 2015

Arguably the best places we've ever stayed - is a good way of summing how much we enjoyed Sweeney's Bothy. Incredible cosy little place surrounded by nature and beauty and very well, and tastefully, equipped for making delicious food. Fantastic hosts and all the green credentials too. October 2015

Sweeney's Bothy is simply beautiful. We spent the best part of 5 days forgetting the need for time, going on adventures and meeting the wonderfully friendly locals. We had an absolutely perfect few days on Eigg; only wish we'd stayed longer. We definitely hope to come back! The bothy is brilliantly with simple, elegant, and functional architecture and endlessly enthralling views of the Isle of Rùm. We had a lovely 3 night stay at Sweeny's Bothy; a comfortable and quirky place with everything necessary to make a trip to Eigg feel truly special! Our expectations were definitely surpassed. We were certainly never short of something to do, whether it was riding our rented mountain bikes down dirt tracks, exploring local caves and beaches, cooking up dinner on the fantastic wood burning stove or simply admiring the beautiful view. Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone looking for a bit of adventure and quiet time. June 2015

Our stay at Sweeney's Bothy was nothing short of perfection. One of our best trips ever and this was largely to the kindness and friendliness of our hosts, Lucy and Eddie. The bothy is amazing, anything you might need is there, if it’s not, you don’t need it! It’s clean, has stunning views, quiet and is just a joy to be in. Eigg was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, and the bothy was the most incredible way to experience it. The Bothy was an amazing place to get away to. Beautiful, cosy, impeccably clean and full of everything you could need for your stay. It is so wonderfully designed (the outdoor shower! and the cosy snug!) and for the feeling of being immersed in the incredible scenery surrounding it. October 2014

Lucy and Eddie are wonderful hosts at Sweeney's and share the spirit of the small island of Eigg and its community of a 100 people. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the idyllic landscapes that the bothy opens out into. The view from the elevated bed is quite remarkable at night. The fireplace, cooking your own food, an outdoor shower and a very cozy room in fact can dissuade you from leaving the bothy. The neighbourhood is quiet and allows for a good amount of walking and experiencing the quaintness of the island. The island has a remarkable history that you can read about in the "Story of Eigg", ensconced in the tiny library tucked away in the bothy. Definitely a place we will consider visiting again. What an amazing place! A great, comfortable cabin, thoughtfully designed with everything you need. Incredible views. I could happily sit drinking wine in front of the log stove and looking out over the scenery for days! Some impressive walks to do around the island, and a perfect place to escape it all. So we were planning a trip away on a Scottish island for my birthday. What we got was one of the most momentous experiences of both our lives. The Bothy is perfect. Completely sheltered from road or neighbour but with views in every direction to stir the soul. No detail has been spared. Everything we could possibly need had been provided and more. The outdoor shower is more fun than you think. The feelings of privacy, warmth and homeliness are there the instant you arrive and will only grow over your stay. So, overwhelmed by the romantic atmosphere my partner decided to propose! September 2014

We had such a fantastic holiday on the Isle of Eigg. Everything was beautiful and the cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The cottage felt incredibly clean and everything was well organized. Wake up and see the mountain and ferns outside and breathe fresh air. Start the day with a fire in the stove and a coffee overlooking the ocean and then embark on adventurous hikes. Extra plus for the library in the cabin that had everything we wanted to read; poetry, philosophy, nature books, history and maps. All the books about Eigg made the stay even more special and we really understood that people here love their island very much. Our own love story with Eigg began here - and we can hardly wait until we get to come back again. September 2014
